Anyone else sick of the Affordable Care Act yet???.....

I suspect there are some of you who would agree with me that we are really tired of hearing about the Affordable Care Act and all the issues with it.  But lets take a look at how the Administration has evolved in its framing of all the issues.

So Obama Care, or the Affordable Care Act, went into effect (the sign up in the exchanges) on October 1, 2013.  One small problem....no one could sign up!

The Washington Post put together a fun little clip to help explain what the problem is with the website.  Clearly the Post is more of a conservative news organization.

The more Obama friendly CNN was framing the story that this was bound to happen, every new website will have issues and that he administration was on top of the fix this was November 4, 2013 well over 30 days into the sign up time.

Now it is December 1, one day after the President's self imposed "fix" date for website annnnnd the Adminstration says is fixed.
A news story released today from the Inquistor sums it up nicely:

We have to give it a few days to see if it truly is working.  If there are more problems it will be interesting to see how the topic is framed by the Obama Administration.

  1. As a novice blogger I have been fighting with myself over my weariness of the ACA issues for a while now. On the one hand it's getting a little old and a little boring at this point; on the other hand one of my criticism's of journalism is that they get bored and move on to the next topic and completely abandon a very important issue. Then of course I did it.

  2. I find it very interesting to see the different viewpoints on the ACA. I have to admit that it has been overkill in the news but one thing I always argue is that if there is a problem or an issue the media will EXPLOIT it. Nevermind the solution or the extent of rectification being applied. As long as media has their hands on Obamacare there is evidently still an issue centered around it. One thing I hate about their covering the negativity of the situation is that it applies fuel to the GOP or any other party that opposed the ACA or President Obama's policy for America. We the people should be supporting and uplifiting and media exploitation really diminishes that concept. I will argue that no server can handle millions of people logging onto it at ONCE attempting to sign up for healthcare, but I can also argue that knowing the amount of uninsured Americans we should not have rushed into the ACA but made sure that it was set to run efficiently.
